Sunday
the garden tour
too few people seem to deeply appreciate
how much of science (and the part
of civilization that can be associated with love)
is advanced by our ability
to divide time into smaller and smaller pieces.
childhood - one rotation of an electron around a nucleus.
a million lifetimes remark the slow passage
of soft tongue on lovers lips.
springtime fills that moment,
as the eyes of two strangers
meet, with recognition that both
were admiring someone else’s lilacs.
